The Fields are a Dedicated Queen Elizabeth 11 Diamond Jubilee Site
This initiative, launched in 2012 to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, sought to collect 2012 recreation and playing fields by Dedication from Local Authorities and other landowners. After a vigorous campaign by the Friends, CWaC was persuaded to submit Park Fields (and 8 other sites in Cheshire) to Fields in Trust. Park Fields' recognition as a "QE II Diamond Jubilee Site" was confirmed in September 2013 at a celebratory event involving councillors from CWaC and Neston Town Council, many local inhabitants, our Members, and schoolchildren at which CWaC Councillor Stuart Parker presented the official Plaque, now mounted on the stone monument. It was a day to remember. Dedication as a QE II site protects the land from change of use or disposal by the Local Authority in perpetuity. By request of CWaC, the Friends are charged with keeping a watchful and protective brief over the whole site.
