COMMUNITY ORCHARD PLANTING
WEEK COMMECING 19TH APRIL 2021
The Friends are delighted to announce that a Community Orchard of approximately 40 to 50 fruit trees will be planted in the area between the Educational and the sports field hedge.
The initiative, agreed with CWAC, is part of the wider plans to enhance the bio diversity of the Field.
"We are delighted to have been able to secure the Field as part of the Council's plans to increase the number of community orchards in the borough. The trees will be planted and maintained under the agreement." Colin Nicol (Chair of The Friend of Park Fields.) " We hope the orchard will grow to be a valuable asset for the community as well being part of our plans to enhance the bio diversity of the area"
It is hoped the trees will be planted later this week. Please be aware there will be working machinery on the field.
